The San Pedro Waterfront Arts District will host a very special presentation of the animated film Coco at the Warner Grand Theatre on October 28th to kick off downtown San Pedro’s Día de los Muertos Festival produced by the San Pedro Business Improvement District.
Coco is a computer-animated fantasy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday, the story follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead, where he seeks the help of his deceased musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living. The film won two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (“Remember Me”).
This screening has been made possible by FilmLA as a gift to the community. Admission is FREE to the public, but this is a reserved, ticketed event. The free tickets are available via the San Pedro Waterfront Arts District website.
