The popular New Year’s Eve Gala at Pier Plaza takes over the beach. Experience this one-of-a-kind party by the sea with Lou Giovannetti and his Big Big Band playing the sounds of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett on a large stage until 12:30am. The family-friendly evening includes two countdowns to the new year on a 9 by 12-foot video screen. The first countdown takes place at 9 p.m. live from Times Square in New York City, and the second at midnight features our very own 8-foot beach ball drop as Hermosa Beach rings in the new year. An estimated 5,000 people gather on the plaza every New Year’s Eve. Come experience the best beachside celebration to finish and start each year.
