Joan Milke Flores Park
This small park in San Pedro has great views of the Pacific. The long grassy knoll along Paseo del Mar has picnic benches and is a superb spot to enjoy the view while having lunch. Many people bring their dogs here and let them run off leash through the grass, although prohibited. Dogs are allowed in the park, but should be kept on leash and cleaned up after.
This park sits on the south side of Fort MacArthur Military Museum. It’s also near the Korean Friendship Bell and Angels Gate Park, all of which can be reached by pathways from Joan Milke Flores Park.
The serene landscape is the perfect place for relaxation and an awesome view of the ocean. You can also walk to nearby Point Fermin Park and Wilder’s Addition Park on the ocean side of Paseo del Mar.
The park was named after Joan Milke Flores who served as Los Angeles City Councilwoman for the 15th district from 1981 to 1993.
