Torrance Bakery
This family owned and operated bakery has been a landmark in downtown Old Torrance since 1984.
On September 29th, owner Kirk Rossberg will be honored at the annual State of the City event as the 2016 Distinguished Citizen of the Year by the local chamber of commerce. Rossberg is known for his support of many community and charitable organizations, including El Camino Community College, the YMCA and Torrance Historical Society. Kirk’s father Dick Rossberg, a former councilman and chamber president, received the same Distinguished Citizen of the Year award in 1988.
Torrance Bakery was opened by the Rossberg family on October 18, 1984 in a 1,200-foot-space with seven employees. Today, the bakery employs more than 75 people in two locations sprawling over 14,000 square feet. In addition to wedding cakes and pastries, they also make delectable sandwiches, paninis, and salads.
