Captain Kidd’s
For over 40 years, Captain Kidd’s has stood strong in beautiful King Harbor in Redondo Beach. Voted the freshest seafood in the South Bay, this fish market and restaurant has thrived since 1976 despite multiple disasters that have hit the Redondo Pier.

In January of 1988, a devastating ocean storm swallowed most of the pier and just a few months later, King Harbor fought a fire that destroyed more than one third of the pier. Captain Kidd’s somehow managed to not only survive both disasters, but create major improvements after.
Started by the Mills family, Captain Kidd’s prides itself on their extensive menu with a selection of over twenty different seafood items, including cod, red snapper, and a personal favorite: king crab legs! Customers are able to order off the kitchen menu or select their cut of fish directly from the fish case.

The Mills family’s passion and love for seafood and commitment to their customers and employees has helped the business endure during tough times. “My family’s dedication has never wavered. My mother was in here working up until her very last days, making sure customers were taken care of and employees were happy. As for me, I am here day in and day out to assure that Captain Kidd’s name continues to be synonymous with high quality fish and it being the perfect place to bring family,” says son John Mills.
Visit today and take in the history, breath-taking views, and of course the delicious food that Captain Kidd’s has to offer. They have three patios (including a dog-friendly patio!), which are prime spots to take in the gorgeous Redondo Beach sunsets.
To plan your visit, whether it be to pick up and cook at home or dine in, see all of the amazing options on the Captain Kidd’s website.
