Torrance Certified Farmers Market @ Charles H. Wilson Park

Torrance Farmers_MarketSample the variety of top quality produce brought in each week direct from 60 California farms. Held in Charles H. Wilson Park in Torrance, the market features a year-round selection of California grown fruits, nuts, vegetables, eggs, honey, baked goods, fish, cut flowers and nursery stock. FREE produce raffle every Tuesday at 12:00 noon!

Along with a year-round selection of California-grown fruits and vegetables, the Torrance Certified Farmers Market includes a special emphasis on Asian produce.

Habitat Restoration @ Madrona Marsh

BirdWould you like to help create and learn about different habitats? Help Mardona Marsh Preserve by removing non-native plants, replace them with locally grown native plants, and pick up trash left at the Preserve. Soon, the work you will have done will attract many birds, butterflies and other insects!

Open to adults and students 14 years and older. Children between the ages of 14-18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Participants must arrive on time and wear close-toed shoes. Snacks and drinks provided at 10:30 a.m.

Old Fire Station Museum #38 Open House @ Old Fire Station Museum #38, 639 South Harbor Boulevard, San Pedro, CA 90731

Vintage Fire Fighting equipment on display at the Old Fire Station in the San Pedro City Municipal Building. Volunteers are happy to answer all your questions. There’s a lot of exhibits packed into a small space.

CRAFTED Classes @ CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles

Classes are offered by various vendors and range from candle making, silk scarf marbling, painting, knitting, jewelry making, and more!  Prices vary. Family Nature Hike

View a premier example of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy‘s (PVPLC) restoration of coastal sage scrub habitat and stop at a former gun emplacement to learn about the military history of the area. Don’t miss the Nature Education Center with activities for the whole family. Moderate terrain.

3rd Saturday outdoor walks are held year round for families, groups, and individuals.  Led by naturalists, historians, and geologists, all walks are family-oriented. Dogs on leash are welcome.  Wear walking shoes with good traction and sun protection. Bring water. In case of heavy rain, walks are cancelled. No reservations required.
