Named after “fool’s gold” found in the canyon, follow a loop overlooking the Portuguese Bend landslide to experience splendid views. Strenuous terrain.
Parking: Along Forrestal Drive or park in the lot at Ladera Linda Community Center, 32201 Forrestal Drive. Meet near the gate.
2nd Saturday outdoor walks are held year round for families, groups, and individuals. Led by naturalists, historians, and geologists, all walks are family-oriented. Dogs on leash are welcome. Wear walking shoes with good traction and sun protection. Bring water. In case of heavy rain, walks are cancelled. No reservations required.
