San Pedro Café

Amazing food with a really friendly staff, creating a welcoming and inviting environment. The food has a homemade feel and the variety of options are dizzying. From pancakes & waffles to salads, burgers & sandwiches to Asian, Mexican & vegetarian options; there truly is something for everybody here. Located around the corner from the Warner Grand Theatre and downtown San Pedro, the café is walking distance to many quaint gift shops and beautiful art galleries.

According to their website, San Pedro Café’s mission “is to provide fresh and great tasting food using the best ingredients in a clean and friendly environment. Our meals are cooked to order and may take a few extra minutes but we hope it is worth your wait.” On my two recent visits, I was pleasantly surprised to find the service fast and efficient.

On my first visit to the café, I ordered a Hot Greek Burger with a vegetarian patty. When ordering a veggie patty, you never know what you’re going to get. They can easily be overcooked or made with a strange consistency. My food arrived quickly and I was very pleased with both the flavor and texture of the veggie patty. The burger included grilled jalapeños, Feta cheese, and the usual veggies. It was delicious!

My meal was so good, in fact, that I went back to San Pedro Café just two days later! While perusing the menu at my previous visit, I had noticed they offer Huevos Rancheros, a personal favorite. This time I made sure to skip the cereal at home and ordered my beloved Mexican breakfast consisting of two free-range eggs over corn tortillas with veggie beans, red chili sauce, jack cheese, sour cream and cilantro. The eggs were perfectly cooked, over medium, and the flavor of the chili sauce and accompaniments were spot-on.

I will certainly be visiting the café again soon. The only problem will be deciding what to try next! Maybe the fresh fruit French toast…
