As you approach Rex’s Café, you’re greeted by beautiful flower boxes inviting you into this charming eatery. San Pedro has a number of great breakfast spots to choose from, and Rex’s is definitely one to check out. They are open daily and serve breakfast, brunch, and lunch. The service is fast and friendly and the food is delightful.
My personal favorite dish is the Huevos Rancheros which is two corn tortillas topped with eggs, black bean chili, fresh salsa, tomatoes & avocado. If you prefer a sweeter breakfast spread, they also have a number of pancake and French toast items with various types of fresh fruit.
What I love about Rex’s is that the food tastes fresh and light and not at all greasy. They have an extensive menus with breakfast and lunch items, as well as a number of healthy and tasty vegetarian options, which isn’t always easy to find at some restaurants. Make sure to also check out their large chalkboard for daily specials!
The café is small, giving it a nice neighborhood feel. It’s clean, the staff is friendly, and they serve good food. Prices are great for the large portions. Seating is available inside and on a small outdoor patio. Parking is on the street only.
