The 99-acre reserve is one of several parcels that make up the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve, managed by the Palos Verdes Land Conservancy. It is next to the Upper Filiorum Preserve and beyond the Portuguese Bend Preserve.
Positioned on a rolling hillside, this area has spectacular ocean views and wonderful hiking trails that can be accessed from the end of Ocean Terrace Drive. It’s also the location of a 21-acre habitat restoration project, initiated in 2009, and is home to several rare wildflower and bird species.
The ocean views are great throughout and in the spring the wildflowers add to the attraction. It can get very hot in the summer months, so make sure to bring adequate sun protection, as there is hardly any shade on the route. Dogs are allowed on leash.
