Abalone Cove Shoreline Park
For gorgeous ocean views, bustling tide pools, hidden sea caves, and beautiful black sand beaches, visit the Abalone Cove Shoreline Park.
Featuring bluff-top viewing areas, two beaches (Abalone Cove and Sacred Cove), numerous crisscrossing trails to explore, and a 64 acre Ecological Reserve, there is much to discover here. The reserve is a great place to see important natural marine resources and rare plants, but as a State Ecological Preserve, the taking of protected animals and marine life is prohibited.
Portuguese Point and Inspiration Point frame Sacred Cove and create a picturesque setting with panoramic vistas. The upper area of the park includes multiple picnic tables and restrooms; however, barbeques and fires are prohibited at this site. On-leash dogs are allowed in the upper picnic area and on designated trails, but are not permitted on the beach.
