Harbor City Greenway
The Harbor City Greenway / Wilmington Drain Ribbon is now open for visitors!
The 1/2 mile storm channel was restored to its natural state through funding by Proposition O Water Bond and the Los Angeles County Flood Control District. This restoration gives residents of Harbor City access to 27 acres of green space and ensures clean water flows into the Machado Lake ecosystem.
The nice wide walking path through the Greenway takes guests into a hidden oasis set right in the middle of our urban sprawl. This is great place to birdwatch. On my short visit I was lucky enough to see a sweet family of ducklings, among other birdlife.
Entrance to the site is located on McCoy Avenue and street parking is available on S. Lomita Boulevard. The Greenway trail connects Lomita Boulevard to Pacific Coast Highway.
